Beginner-Intermediate
Rise & Shine A class that will challenge and relax you at the same time. Starting with a moderate vinyasa flow to build heat gradually in the body, this flow will burn away impurities, creating space in the body for new energy & light. ______________________________________ Alignment Refinement Drawing from Iyengar philosophy and designed for practitioners interested in improving their posture, those recovering from recent injury and with specific physical issues on which they would like to focus. This practice is excellent for anyone wishing to refine their practice through increased awareness of the body. *Recommended for pre/post-natal women. _____________________________________ Deep Stretch A Yin-style practice that focuses on allowing rather than effort. The practice of Yin is one in which we use gravity to deepen our bodies into the posture. Poses are held in a restorative style that allows for your muscles to open and joints to release. *Excellent for increasing flexibility, recovering from illness or treatment and for decreasing stress. _________________________________________ Yoga Basics Taught by a student studying toward a certification in Iyengar Yoga. In this class, supportive props will help you to deepen stretches and increase release. Particular attention will be paid to the details of alignment for the physical poses and body position for breath work (pranayama). An excellent class for those wishing to deepen their understanding of the practice or beginners wishing to understand the poses. *Excellent for increasing flexibility and recovering from illness or treatment. ______________________________________ Basic Flow A shorter class designed to fit into your busy schedule. This class jumps right into the Asana. Varies with active Vinyasa that will help you bring up your energy for the rest of the day as well as "office poses" that you can use while at work. | Intermediate-Advanced
Core Flow Move your body through every available plane in this fun class designed to develop strength & balance in your asana practice, body and whole being. ________________________________________ Active Flow A more aggressive approach to Asana; this vinyasa-style class is designed to warm the body through an active flow of postures. Deepen into binds, extend further into back-bends, lengthen through deep twists and learn to flip things upside-down with inversions and backward bends. *Alignment suggestions are few in this class, new students are recommended to follow basic poses. ____________________________________ Beach Asana (becomes All Level Flow in the fall) Refine your balance, learn to do inversions and challenge your focus. During the summer months, as long as the weather is nice. All Level Flow turns into Beach Asana. You'll learn to improve not only your Asana practice but also your ability to have patience! *Come prepared: bring a beach towel, warm clothing and water. Meet on the North end of Nevada Beach. Look for the string of cakra flags (rainbow-colored) $15 drop-in fee. ____________________________________ Mountain Flow Designed for the athlete this class will challenge you physically. Learn to maintain strength & flexibility regardless of your daily activities. Increase awareness of how your body moves and learn to decrease injury through Yoga Asana. ____________________________________ All Level Flow Take your practice to the next level of Vinyasa with this flowing practice designed to help you move more quickly with grace. Learn to use the strength and flexibility you have developed through Basic Flow to build your physical practice. Learn how to invert into headstands and headstands and open your heart through backward bends. |
